Major breaking news in the world of PPW today, as PPW officials have agreed to a deal to bring the best wrestling in Northeastern Pennsylvania to Scranton for the first time ever! On August 10th, 2019, PPW and Steamtown Mall will team up to present “PPW Brawl in the Mall”!
Scranton is Pennsylvania’s sixth largest city, and the largest city in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metropolitan area. Scranton has a population north of 77,000, and has been dubbed “The Electric City” after lights were introduced in 1880 and the first streetcars in the country were ran exclusively by power out of Scranton.
Scranton’s Steamtown Mall was officially opened in 1993 as the keystone of Scranton’s revitalization, and has nearly 50 stores within it. The mall is located on 300 Lackawanda Avenue in Scranton.
Meanwhile, PPW has mainly been ran out of Hazleton, Pennsylvania since the company’s inception in 2013. The company has not traveled outside of Hazleton since March of 2014, when PPW was not even a year old and presented March Mayhem. Ever since then, PPW has primarily been hosted by the Holy Family Academy, as well as occasional show at the Hazleton YMCA.
With PPW traveling outside of Hazleton for the first time in over 5 years, fans will get the chance to experience the show with a completely different atmosphere. The Steamtown Mall will be hosting wrestling for the first time ever as well on this evening, which will lead to a ton of excitement and anticipation in the air.
Tickets for the event will be available soon. In the meantime, tickets to PPW Heat Blast are available now at www.ppwwrestling.com/shop. Appearing live will be Kelly Kelly, Dean Malenko, Ivelisse, Facade, PPW Heavyweight Champion Evander James, PPW Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez, and the rest of your favorite PPW stars! Order today and be on the lookout for when August tickets will be released!
