A longstanding rivalry in PPW will add another chapter, as PPW Women’s Champion Adena Steele will defend her gold once again against JC Storm! This time, former multiple-time IMPACT Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne will be the special guest referee!
This rivalry started in June at The Return when JC Storm caused a double disqualification in the PPW Women’s Championship match between Steele and then-champion Christina Marie. The following month, Adena Steele entered what was supposed to be a triple threat Women’s Championship match completely unannounced before the show, as the originally scheduled triple threat match was changed to a fatal-4-way. The other 3 competitors, then-champion Christina Marie, The Notorious Mimi and the aforementioned Storm were caught off guard by the announcement, and Steele was able to eventually pick up the victory and the championship after pinning JC.
The two would meet in a one-on-one bout for the gold, a match in which Steele barely squeaked out a victory. Storm and Steele would meet once again last month on opposite teams in a 6 Woman Tag Team match, in which Steele was able to earn another victory, this time alongside Dani Mo and Kaci Lennox of MLW fame.
Storm is desperate at this point for the championship. With the inclusion of Madison Rayne as referee, the Luminous City of Cloud Nine resident is given what could possibly be her last ever chance at the PPW Women’s Championship.
