James to Defend New Championship in Fatal 4 Way

By: Mitchell Frantz

Evander James will be thrown into the fire right away as the new PPW Heavyweight Champion.

In his first championship defense, "The Man you can Trust" will have to face off against a former WWE star in 2 Cold Scorpio as well as two formidable Hazleton mainstays in Samuel Adams and Desean Pratt. Let’s break down each competitor heading into the contest.

Evander James

The new champion is fresh off of the heels of an exciting contest at Super Show II, where the resilient James was able to knock Sean Carr out cold with a superkick after the match was restarted by guest General Manager Teddy Long. 3 seconds later, and “The Man you can Trust” became the brand new PPW Heavyweight Champion. There will be no time to recover, as he will have three very game challengers gunning for his championship in his first (and potentially last) defense.

2 Cold Scorpio

The master of the 450 splash has wrestled in practically every part of the globe throughout his career, allowing him to adapt to any style. Beginning his career in 1985, Scorpio brings unparalleled experience into this encounter and will have to prove that he can still keep up with some of the young guns on the PPW roster if he wants to add PPW Heavyweight Champion to his résumé.

Samuel Adams

“Mr. Good Luck” is anxious to get back into championship contention, and looks to capitalize on his opportunity this time around. Adams was the number one contender to the PPW Heavyweight Championship going into Throwdown on 5th Street, but a timely interference from Lamar Hawkins that night ensured that Sean Carr would leave as champion. Wiser after the defeat, the Puerto Rican looks to recapture the PPW Heavyweight Championship for the first time in over 2 years.

Desean Pratt

Desean Pratt is in an unique situation. “The Prince of Camden” is already the Golden Ticket Briefcase holder, meaning that he can have a PPW Heavyweight Championship match anywhere and at any time he wants. If he were to win at Aftermath, Pratt could not only have the PPW Heavyweight Championship, but also the Golden Ticket. It is a very unique situation to be in for sure. Even if he did lose, he could immediately cash in and call for a singles match with the champion. There is plenty to think about for Pratt heading into the show.
