Aries to Defend Newly Won Title Against Clutch

By: Mitchell Frantz

Clutch Adams for the longest time has zeroed his target in on one man: Evander James.

“The Spectacle” has craved to be the PPW Heavyweight Champion since July, and had constantly intervened in James’ matches since then to remind the former champ that he is still lingering around.

Last month in a turn of events at PPW’s 6th Anniversary Show, it was Evander who cost Clutch his match against Teddy Hart, proving that turnabout is fair play. However, later in the evening, Evander would pass out in the middle of the ring to Austin Aries. PPW’s senior official Jeff Carden was forced to call for the bell. A stunned Hazleton crowd heard Paul Bo announce that Austin Aries was the new PPW Heavyweight Champion. An initially mixed reaction was turned to cheers afterwards when Aries took the microphoned and thanked the PPW Nation and even offered to have fans take pictures with him and his protégé, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir, in the middle of the ring.

The joy of victory is about to wear off soon though, as Clutch Adams storms in to Hazleton at PPW Full Moon on October 19th to challenge Aries for the PPW Heavyweight Championship. Adams, who has not been shy about expressing his desire to get his hands on the gold, will finally get the opportunity that he has longed for, although it will not be against Evander James like he was expecting.

Brash, cocky and arrogant, Clutch Adams has no respect for the nearly two decades of experience that Aries has, nor does he have respect for the countless championships and accolades that "A Double" has earned. Meanwhile, Aries has seen it all and done it all, and could be left vulnerable to potentially overlooking one of the brightest young stars in all of PPW.

Will “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” be able to defeat the egotistical Adams? Or will “The Spectacle” pull off the upset against Aries?
